Boys postseason basketball roundup: Hillcrest Academy, Keota advance

Hillcrest Academy 64, Central City 48
Hillcrest Academy took care of business against Central City on Monday night.
The Ravens lead by just five, 30-25, at the half, but really extended their lead in the third. Hillcrest outscored Central City 20-6 in the third to make it 50-31 heading into the fourth.
That’s all the Ravens would need.
Mason Bender scored 21 points going 9-for-9 from the field. Bryce Bailey followed with 14 and Seth Ours added 12.
Keota 86, Lone Tree 48
Keota downed Lone Tree on Monday night to advance in the 1A Region 4 bracket.
The Eagles scored 21 each in the first two quarters, building a 42-25 lead at the break. Keota didn’t let up scored 24 and 20 between the final two frames to put the game out of reach.
Billie Kindred finished with 29 points and 17 rebounds in the win. Chase Haifley scored 20 points and Jackson Vittetoe had 12.
North Linn 89, Highland 24
Highland’s season came to an end on Monday night to the hands of North Linn 89-24.
The Lynx jumped out to a 37-2 after one quarter and never looked back. Highland was down 51-11 by the half and 80-21 after three quarters.
Holy Trinity Catholic 81, Columbus 37
Columbus was defeated by Holy Trinity Catholic in the pairs 1A Region 4 bracket on Monday night.
The Wildcats were down 21-11 after one and 36-17 at the half. HTC went on to outscore the Wildcats 31-11 in the third to all but put it away.
PCM 82, Van Buren County 36
Van Buren County was neck and neck with PCM after one quarter on Monday night. The Warriors were down just two, 15-13, through eight minutes.
However, the Mustangs went on to outscore VBC 19-7, 22-5 and 26-11 in the next three quarters.
Will Cocherell led VBC with 13 points. Izaak Loeffler ended with eight and Kamden Nusbaum scored six.
Mediapolis 84, Cardinal 40
Cardinal fell to Mediapolis on Monday in a 2A Region 5 bout. The Comets close their season at 2-20.
