Boys roundup: Harmsen tallies 1,000 points, Cardinal survives

The Golden Hawk’s Carter Harmsen had himself an eventful night, finished with a game-high 27 point double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds.
The senior forward also notched his 1,000 career point en route to the victory, the Golden Hawks fifteenth straight.
Harmsen has been integral to Mid-Prairie’s success this season. He’s averaging 21.2 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, while shooting a 56.2% clip from the field.
The Golden Hawks are now 15-0 on the season.
Hillcrest Academy 48, Wapello 44
The Ravens have now won four straight since losing two in a row.
At halftime both teams were tied at 20-20, but Hillcrest used an 13-8 third to gain some breathing room heading into the fourth.
Wapello got the better of Hillcrest, 16-15, in the final quarter, but the Ravens were able to hang on for the win.
Hillcrest moves to 11-3 with the win.
Cardinal 54, Holy Trinity Catholic 53
The Comets looked as if they were going to run away with the game after the first half, but the Crusaders had other plans.
Cardinal outscored Holy Trinity 38-21 in the first half, but Holy Trinity came out firing on all cylinders in the second half. The Crusaders outscored the Comets 32-16 in the second half.
Despite the massive turnaround by Holy Trinity, the Comets were able to survive.
Cardinal improves to 10-6 with the victory.
