The Mt. Pleasant boys' tennis team ran through West Burlington-Notre Dame on Monday. The Panthers nearly swept the day, beating the Falcons 8-1.
Mt. Pleasant's only loss on the day came in the No. 1 singles match when Corbin Broeker was defeated 8-4. Mt. Pleasant the rest of the singles matches to clinch the meet early.
Jaxon Hoyle took down his opponent 8-4 in the No. 2 singles match. Donny Arledge took a thrilling No. 3 singles match 9-8(4). David Nguyen won the No. 4 singles match 8-4. Jack Schimmelpfennig picked up an 8-2 win in the No. 5 singles match, and Clayton Henriksen won 8-4 in the No. 6 match.
The Panthers swept the three doubles matches. Broeker and Hoyle won the No. 1 doubles match 8-3. Arledge and Schimmelpfennig won a close No. 2 doubles match 9-7, and the team of Nguyen and Henriksen completed the sweep with an 8-3 victory in the No. 3 match.
The Panthers moved to 4-1 overall with the win. They'll take on conference rival Fairfield on Thursday, April 11, at home.
