Brezina posts career night for CCA in loss

Iowa Mennonite junior Drake Brezina has been making an impact for the Clear Creek Amana football team this season.

With IMS not having a football program, Brezina has been playing as a running back for the Clippers, and posted a career night on Thursday in a road contest with Davenport Assumption.

Brezina ran for 244 yards on 24 carries in the game, scoring his first career touchdown, but the Clippers fell to Assumption 37-14.

The junior now has 711 rushing yards, which would put him at third in the district, depending on how the rest of the weekend?s games play out.

Clear Creek Amana is now 3-4 overall and 3-2 in district play. Assumption is one of two undefeated teams in the district, moving to 4-0 in the district with the victory, while Washington sits at 3-0 in the district with a game against Keokuk at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
