Warriors win big twice
The seventh-ranked Van Buren baseball team stretched its winning streak to 19 games with a pair of easy wins vs. Holy Trinity and West Burlington this week.
The Warriors picked up a four-inning, 16-0 victory over Holy Trinity Monday at home and defeated West Burlington 14-1 in a five-inning road game Tuesday.
The Warriors have scored at least 10 runs in 11 of the last 14 games.

Warriors win big twice
The seventh-ranked Van Buren baseball team stretched its winning streak to 19 games with a pair of easy wins vs. Holy Trinity and West Burlington this week.
The Warriors picked up a four-inning, 16-0 victory over Holy Trinity Monday at home and defeated West Burlington 14-1 in a five-inning road game Tuesday.
The Warriors have scored at least 10 runs in 11 of the last 14 games.
Elliott Remick threw a no-hitter and was one walk short of a perfect game in the win against Holy Trinity. The senior struck out six. Jacob Wolf finished 3 for 4 from the plate, including a grand slam home run and five runs batted in, and Blake Scott went 3 for 4.
Against West Burlington, Garrett Saunders tossed a three-hitter, Wolf again went yard with a solo homer and Colin Weaver smacked a grand slam.
Van Buren (23-1, 13-0 SEISC south) is set to host IMS today.
Van Buren softball wins
KEOSAUQUA ? Alicia Fitzsimmons pitched four innings of no-hit ball and the Van Buren softball team rolled to a shortened 15-0 win over Holy Trinity Monday.
Payten Hughes finished 2 for 2 from the plate with a double and four RBI, Jansen Heckenberg knocked in two runs on a pair of base knocks and Jordan Billups finished with three RBI.
The Warriors, who also were nipped 6-5 by second-ranked West Burlington-Notre Dame Tuesday, will host Davis County on Friday.
Cardinal falls in extras
ELDON ? The Cardinal softball team fell 4-3 to second-ranked West Burlington-Notre Dame in nine innings Monday.
Allison Ollom and Morgan Honomichl led the Comet offense with two hits and one RBI each. Laci Moore pitched well enough to win, throwing the nine-inning complete game and surrendering 11 hits with two strikeouts.
Cardinal (19-11, 10-3 SEISC south) hosts Fairfield in a non-conference doubleheader starting at 6 p.m. today.
