Brown and Parrott lead D-NL to conference championship

COLUMBUS - The Danville-New London girls aer SEISC cross-country champions. The Tigers took first place with 38 points at the SEISC meet in Columbus on Thursday, outlasting second-place Pekin, who scored 55.
D-NL was led by the one-two punch of Lexi Brown and Addy Parrott. Brown won the meet in style, crossing the tape in in 19:56.9, and Parrott placed second, finishing in 20:25.3.
D-NL put all five of their scorers in the top 20. Alyssa Pfadenhauer was sixth, in 21:32.2. Carisa Mackey placed 13th, in 22:25.3, and Lia Reighard was 18th, in 22:32.4. Non-scorers for D-NL were Lilly Garnsey (32nd, 24:20.8) and Allyson Farley (38th, 25:05).
Neither the Winfield-Mt. Union nor WACO girls had enough runners to place. W-MU was led by Avery Maeder's 34th-place 24:27.6, and WACO was led by Grace Conwell, who placed 40th in 25:14.3.
The W-MU duo of Isabella Mertens and Whitney Vantiger went 45th and 46th in 25:30.8 and 25:45 respectively. Kaden Fisk placed 57th in 27:30.7 for the Wolves.
Makenzie Shelman was the second WACO girl across, finishing in 28:49 for 64th, and Caitlin Sells was 68th, in 31:30.
The D-NL boys took second place with 59 points. Pekin won the boys' meet with 45 points, getting the top two indidivual runners, much like the D-NL girls.
The D-NL boys were led by Ty Carr and Julian Alexander. Carr finished fifth in 17:49.2, and Alexander was sixth, in 17:51.9.
Gabriel Gourley finished 14th, in 18:57.5. Cody Welch placed 16th, in 19:04. Oliver Sowell was 18th, in 19:12.9. Non-scorers for the D-NL boys were Seth Bailey (36th, 19:56.2), and Max Wilcox (39th, 20:16.9).
The W-MU boys finished ninth place overall, scoring 207. Brody Barton led the Wolves with a seventh-place 18:02.1.
Asa Gipple was the second W-MU boy across, finishing 21st in 19:21.8. Dane Sweezer was 30th, in 19:47.4. Destiny Calvin was 75th, in 22:51.3. Jack Moody was 83rd, in 23:18.8. Avinn Newton was 84th, in 23:29.6, and Benjamin Hemsworth was 99th, in 26:59.5.
The WACO boys scored 287 points for 11th place. The top Warrior was Jonah Egli, who crossed the tape in 19:14.5 for 19th place.
Tanner Conwell took 64th place, in 21:38.4. Larz Smith was 68th, in 21:46.9. Taylor Sutton placed 71st, in 22:30.9. Joe Edeker was 78th, in 22:53.7, and Tim Ackles finished 90th, in 24:10.2.
