Brown highlights MCC meet

STERLING, Ill. ? Keith Brown won the Midwest Collegiate Conference title in the men?s 55-meter hurdles to lead the Iowa Wesleyan College track and field teams at the MCC Indoor Championships on Saturday.
Brown?s time of :07.63 in the hurdles broke the meet record previously held by Christian Awah of Ashford University last year with a time of :07.69. His time also broke the school record time of :07.65, which he set earlier this season.
Brown also scored points for the Tigers by finishing fifth in the men?s 55 meters with a time of :06.60. He was fifth in the 200 with a time of :22.97.
The IWC men finished seventh of eight men?s teams, while the Tiger women finished eighth on the women?s side. Grand View University defended its team titles on both the men?s and women?s sides.
Aaron Brown also posted a high finish for the Tigers, taking fourth in the men?s shot put with a top throw of 47-7 1/4 (15.51 meters). The men?s 4x400 relay of Michael Klostermann, Duane Lee, Jacob Ayers, and Raul Becerril took sixth with a time of 3:43.77.
LaStacy Freeman led a limited squad competing for the IWC women, taking fourth in the women?s 55 meters with a time of :07.48. She also was ninth in the 200 with a time of :27.20.
