BURLINGTON - While the high school golf season was canceled in 2020 due to the coronavirus, a couple of Washington High School golfers are on the course this summer in tournaments.
The 2020 Iowa Junior Boys and Girls Amateur Championships, administered by the Iowa Golf Association, were conducted at Spirit Hollow Golf Course Wednesday and Thursday.
Washington's Kiki Guo placed fourth and Anna Nacos tied for ninth in the girls age 16-18 division. Rylee Heryford of Newton won with an eight-over-par score of 152 for the two-day total on the par-72 course.

Bruner was the model of consistency in the tourney. She did not have a birdie in the tourney but never had a double bogey. Every hole's score was either a par or bogey. Bruner had 23 pars in the tournament, two better than Heryford's 21. Nacos was tied for 10th with 14.
Nacos opened with a 43 and closed with a 43 on her first day. She had three double bogeys and seven bogeys. Her second day saw two doubles on her front nine score of 45, but she closed with a back nine of 41.
