Buitendorp and Waite in 24th and 26th places, respectively, at state
Washington?s Megan Buitendorp and Sarah Waite are in 24th and 26th places, respectively, after the first day of the Class 4A girls? state golf tournament at the Ames Golf and Country Club.
Buitendorp, a junior, carded a 96 and is tied for 24th place with Mt. Pleasant?s Courtney Mabeus. Waite, a sophomore, is one shot behind Buitendorp and Mabeus in a tie for 26th place. There are 58 golfers in the 4A field.
