MT. PLEASANT — Area track and field teams will flock to Mt. Pleasant on Thursday night to take part in the Panthers’ first home invitational.
Mt. Pleasant’s home track meet highlights what will be a packed night of area spring sports action. The Panthers will welcome in a slew of Class 3A and 4A schools, including Union area rivals Fairfield and Washington.
Mt. Pleasant will play host to three different sports at one time. The Panther boys’ soccer team will host Clear Creek-Amana and the girls’ tennis team will host Davis County, both happening at East Lake Park. All home events for Mt. Pleasant will start at 4:30 p.m.
Area events will be taking place in all three big school locations on Thursday. Fairfield will host Fort Madison in girls’ tennis, starting at 4:30 p.m., at Fairfield Middle School, and the boys’ soccer team hosts WACO at 5 p.m.
Meanwhile, in Washington, the Demon boys’ soccer team will host Highland at Washington Wellness Park, starting at 4:30 p.m.
Thursday night will be the first of many full sports nights to take place this spring.
