Busy week on the baseball diamonds
It?s been a hot week on the baseball diamond for area teams, not only in terms of temperatures, but also in scoring runs and getting wins.
For Mid-Prairie, they lost to Cascade Thursday, June 8, by a 3-13 score. The boys played two games Friday, June 9.
Their first game they won 15-0 over Grundy Center in three innings. They won their second game 3-2 against Denison-Schleswig.

It?s been a hot week on the baseball diamond for area teams, not only in terms of temperatures, but also in scoring runs and getting wins.
For Mid-Prairie, they lost to Cascade Thursday, June 8, by a 3-13 score. The boys played two games Friday, June 9.
Their first game they won 15-0 over Grundy Center in three innings. They won their second game 3-2 against Denison-Schleswig.
The boys played in a doubleheader Monday, June 12 at Regina.
The first game resulted in a 0-5 loss for the Golden Hawks and the second game ended 4-10 in Regina?s favor.
The boys were host to Washington Tuesday, June 13, in which the Demons won 1-8.
They played against Camanche Thursday, June 15. That game in Camanche ended up suspended by weather with a score of 3-2 with Mid-Prairie in the lead.
Mid-Prairie?s record now stands at 9-8. They are host to Bellevue Monday, June 19, starting at 7:30 p.m.
Highland was host to West Burlington Thursday, June 8. That game ended 5-0 in favor of Highland.
The boys won 10-0 against Danville Saturday, June 10, and won 4-3 over West Branch later that day.
Highland fell to Pekin Monday, June 12, by a final of 6-10. The team played at New London Thursday, June 15.
That game had a 4-3 final score with Highland winning.
The Huskies now have an 11-3 record as they get set to play their next game at Louisa-Muscatine Monday, June 19, starting at 7 p.m.
The Iowa Mennonite boys won over Montezuma 8-0 Thursday, June 8.
They fell to New London Monday, June 12, by a 2-3 score and shut out Pekin on the road Tuesday, June 13, by a 3-0 score.
They were host to Louisa-Muscatine Thursday, June 15. That game ended with a 4-3 score in IMS? favor.
The boys played at Lone Tree Friday, June 16, which ended in a 1-2 loss.
IMS has a 6-5 record and will next play Monday, June 19, at Cardinal starting at 7 p.m.
Keota was host to Lynville-Sully Friday, June 9. That game ended with a 13-16 final score. The boys played at HLV, Victor Monday, June 12.
Keota returned home with a 13-14 loss. They played against Colfax-Mingo Wednesday, June 14, losing 2-1.
Keota?s record is 6-6. They traveled to BGM Friday, June 16, for their next game, which resulted in an 8-13 loss.
Keota?s record is now 6-6. They next take to the field at Iowa Valley Monday, June 19, starting at 5 p.m.
The Columbus boys lost to Central Lee Thursday, June 8, by a 1-17 final score.
The Wildcats lost 3-21 at Wapello Monday, June 12, and lost by a 1-4 score at Winfield-Mt. Union Tuesday, June 13.
The team was host to Van Buren Thursday, June 15. That game ended with a 0-19 loss.
The boys played at West Branch Friday, June 16, with West Branch winning 13-3. Columbus? record for the season so far is 1-12.
They next play at West Burlington Monday, June 19.
