Cardinal falls to Burlington

BURLINGTON ? Cardinal dropped a pair of games in a softball doubleheader with Burlington Wednesday.

The Comets fell 8-2 in the first game and lost the second on the 10-run rule, 11-1.

Cardinal?s Lindsey Davis had an RBI double and Carlie Bennett also legged out a double. Delaney Ridgway added a single for the Comets, who managed just four hits in the opener.

Ridgway went the distance in the first game, tallying six strikeouts while giving up 12 base knocks.

In the six-inning nightcap, Lindsay Moore went 3-for-3 from the plate to pace the five-hit offense. Davis was 1-for-1.

Lexi Fullenkamp allowed 13 hits while punching out two batters in the complete game performance.

The 1-2 Comets visit 1-1 Van Buren today. The JV/varsity doubleheader starts at 5:30 p.m.
