Cardinal goes 1-3 at Urbandale Tourney

URBANDALE ? The Cardinal softball team kept with the trend they have started this year and put themselves among good company in a weekend tournament.

Friday and Saturday, the Comets were at the Urbandale tournament and posted a 1-3 mark.

Class 2A ninth-ranked Maple Vally-Anton Otto squeaked past Cardinal with a 3-2 victory to get things started on Friday. Cardinal then lost 6-0 to Des Moines Roosevelt Friday evening.

The Comets fell once more Saturday morning ? a nine inning 4-3 loss to Lisbon. Laci Moore was tagged with the tough luck loss pictching a complete game giving up just two earned runs.

Cory Campbell belted a home run and Felisha Durflinger pitched seven innings in the Comets? 5-2 victory vs. PCM to conclude the tournament.
