Cardinal softball falls to ranked foe
No. 5 (3A) Eddyville-Blakesburg Fremont too much for Comets

EDDYVILLE — The Cardinal softball team had some tough sledding on Wednesday, as they took on Class 3A’s fifth-ranked team on the road. Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont had too much in the tank for the Comets, as the Rockets won 8-1.
EBF scored two runs in the bottom of the second inning. Cardinal cut the lead in half with a run in the third, but the Rockets scored the next six to run away with a victory.
The Comets had won three out of its last four games entering Wednesday’s loss.
