ELDON ? Cardinal and Maharishi School opened up SEISC south division volleyball play, but MSAE didn?t provide much resistance to the Comet squad in search of a conference title.
Cardinal rolled over a young, inexperienced Pioneer team 25-12, 25-6 and 25-10. The wins moves the Comets to 2-3 on the young season while MSAE falls to 0-1.
MSAE never led in the match thanks to the serving of Sara Greiner and Liz Nichols at the top of the Cardinal lineup. Greiner served the Comets to a big opening lead in the opening game while Nichols did the same in game two. Greiner finished the match 19-of-21 serving with two aces. Emilee Peters and Lindsay Moore also picked up the slack from behind the baseline as Peters hit all 10 of her serves and Moore was 9-of-9 with two aces.
At the net, Andrea Kayser put down seven kills from the outside, Chelsea Aschenbrenner added four and Sam Nickel chipped in two blocks.
Pandora Wadsworth led the Pioneers going 5-of-6 serving with the team?s lone ace, Chosie Titus picked up four digs and Essa Johnson led the offense with two kills.
Cardinal will have a week off before taking on another SEISC south opponent at home as Central Lee comes calling next Thursday.
