Cardinal swept at Notre Dame

ELDON - It was a rough night for the Cardinal basketball teams on Tuesday as the Comets hosed Notre Dame for a boy-girl doubleheader. The Nikes swept the night, beating the Comets 62-25 in girls basketball and 63-33 in boys.
The Nikes put th epressure on early and jumped out to a 15-point lead in the first quarter. Notre Dame led 17-2 after one, 35-12 at halftime and 47-24 after three quarters.
Cardinal had five players score in the loss. Maddie Cloke led the way with 10 points on 5-9 shooting.
Alexia McClure finished the night with seven points and eight rebounds. Rachel Lewman had four poitns and three assists. Kolbie Bass and Kinsey Hissem scored two points apiece. Lydia Moses didn't score, but did lead thet eam with two steals.
The Cardinal boys stuck with Burlington through the first quarter, trailing by just one point, at 10-9, after eight minutes of play. Notre Dame had a huge second quarter, however, and stretched their lead to 28-13 before halftime.
Cardinal picked up their scoring in the second half, but Notre Dame was able to win every quarter to cruise to a 30-point victory.
