Cardinal volleyball team runs into a buzz saw
No. 7 West Burlington sweeps Cardinal, stays unbeaten
ELDON — It wasn’t the most fun matchup for the Cardinal volleyball team on Tuesday night, as the Comets welcomed in an scalding hot West Burlington team, that is currently ranked No. 7 in Class 3A.
The Comets were held to single digits in two-straight games before reaching their high of 14 in the third. West Burlington cruised in three, 25-9, 25-7, 25-14.
It was Cardinal’s seventh loss to start the season. The Comets had won at least one set in five-straight matches before Tuesday night.
Cardinal will get the chance to pick up some wins when it hosts its home tournament this weekend.
