FAIRFIELD — Fairfield senior Ethan Cass made his college choice official last week at Flamingo Lanes. The former state qualifier will be heading off to Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, where he will join the Triton bowling team.
“It's definitely tough trying to find a college you feel like you're going to be successful at,” said Cass. “For me, I really wanted to bowl in college, and I'm grateful for the opportunity they've given me here.”
Cass, a state qualifier in 2023 as a senior, made his decision right before helping lead his team to a second-place finish at the 2025 conference meet. He bowled a 400 to take third individually.
At college, Cass plans on studying business. He says he should go into college as a sophomore due to taking college classes through Indian Hills.
Cass will join an Iowa Central squad that sports over 20 on the men’s roster alone, a team made up mostly of local Iowa bowlers.
At the signing, Cass spoke about those who have helped him sharpen his bowling skills while at FHS.
“It has definitely taken a lot of work, and a lot of support from everyone,” Cass said. “Coaches, and everyone who have helped me through this, have been great.”
Cass closed out his high school bowling career this week at the state qualifier.
