Chiefs’ Potratz gets 32 points in win

Keokuk registered a Southeast Conference home victory Friday in high school boys basketball with one player scoring nearly half of the points.
Keokuk 69, Washington 63
Anthony Potratz poured in 32 points and and grabbed seven rebounds against the visitors from Washington.
Alex Wolter had 14 points and seven rebounds while Keokuk teammates TyJai Mueller and Isaiah Seay had five assists each.
Keokuk led 18-13 after the first quarter and 40-34 at halftime.
Cade Hennigan had 13 points for Washington.
Keokuk is 3-4 overall and 2-1 in the SEC. Washington is 2-5, 0-2.
Lynville-Sully 69, Keota 66
Trailing 19-11 at the end of the opening stanza, the Eagles lost the home South Iowa Cedar League game Friday to the Class 1A vistors despite four Eagles scoring in double figures.
JD Stout had 28 points, Carson Sprouse 15 on 5 of 9 3-pointers, Austin Waterhouse 10 and Preston McDonald 10. Brady Duwa cleared the boards for 11 rebounds.
Keota (5-4) plays at No. 2 Montezuma Tuesday. LS is 7-1, 5-1, with its only loss to Montezuma.
WACO 64, Holy Trinity 52
The Warriors won the home Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division game with a great start leading 16-4 after the first quarter, 30-10 at halftime and 53-18 starting the fourth.
Drew Kissell had 22 points for the Warriors (6-2, 3-1).
HTC is 0-7, 0-5.
WACO plays at New London Tuesday.
Iowa Mennonite School 57, Winfield-Mt. Union 34
IMS led 26-21 at halftime of the SEISC North Division game.
Jeremy Niemeyer scored 13 points and grabbed eight boards and IMS teammate Eli Ours scored 11 points with four steals. Trevor Leyden scored eight points with two steals. Cody Jones scored seven points with three assists and two steals. Caleb Gingerich recorded six points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals. Kobe Borntrager added six points, two steals and two assists. Blake Bontrager scored four points, and Noah Miller chipped in two points to complete the scoring.
The win moves IMS to 4-2 on the season and in the North. IMS next plays Tuesday at home on Alumni Night. W-MU is 0-7, 0-5.
Cascade 53, Mid-Prairie 40
The Golden Hawks lost at home to the River Valley Conference opponents. The home team led 11-7 after one quarter and 22-20 at halftime. Mid-Prairie was outscored 15-10 in the third quarter and 18-8 in the fourth.
Ethan Trimpe had 12 points to lead Mid-Prairie. Brad Tornow had three assists while Tom Butters had five rebounds.
Mid-Prairie (4-3, 3-3) plays Tuesday at Wilton. Cascade is 3-3, 3-2.
