NEW LONDON - New London wrestling coach Mark Chiri finally reached dual win No. 400 on Thursday night after sitting at 399 since the end of the 2017-18 season. Chiri's Tigers got him career wins 400 and 401, blasting Cardinal 48-15 and topped Wapello 43-30 in a home triangular.
Chiri won No. 399 in late January in a win over Mediapolis, but the Tigers hadn't won a dual yet this season.
The Tigers picked up two pins in the win over Cardinal. Gabe Carter and Gavin Holmes each won by pinfall at 170 lbs. and 182 lbs. respectively.
The Tigers had two pins in the win over Wapello. Cameron Raines won by pinfall at 220 lbs., and Jaxon Allen followed him with a pin at 285 lbs., to give the Tigers an early 28-0 lead. The Tigers only won three more matches on the night, but the damage had been done.
Full results from both of New London's duals can be found blow, with the Tiger wrestler listed first.
