Clarahan clan can: Keota picks up SICL baseball win
No. 3 Mid-Prairie gets sweep, Rath leads Class 2A in home runs

KEOTA — It was 21-of-21 in a recent game for Keota’s Colten Clarahan.
Monday in a home baseball game, Clarahan struck out 11 of the 13 outs he recorded without allowing a hit in a South Iowa Cedar League home win over Colfax-Mingo 8-4.
Patrick Clarahan knocked out two hits, and Caden Clarahan had a hit and batted in two runs. Colten Clarahan went 2-for-3 at the plate as the Clarahan clan cleaned out the visitors. Brady Duwa connected to lace a triple.
Luke Hammen threw five outs with two strikeouts, and Cole Kindred tossed an inning as Keota improved to 5-2 in the SICL, 7-3 overall. The Tigerhawks are 3-7, 1-6.
No. 3 Mid-Prairie sweeps
WEST BRANCH — Aidan Rath hit his seventh home run this season, the most in Class 2A, to bolster third-ranked Mid-Prairie to a sweep of River Valley Conference rival West Branch, 9-7 and 13-3.
Keegan Gingerich and Kayden Reinier combined to strike out nine and scattered 10 hits in the two-run win. Reinier went 3-for-4.
Collin Miller fanned seven with two walks and two hits in throwing all five innings of the 10-run win.
Karson Grout went 4-for-4 at the plate with a double and Rath was 3-for-4 with the blast and a double, bringing in three runs.
The Hawks are 7-2 in the RVC and 10-2 overall.
Falcons roll Wolves
WINFIELD — Louisa-Muscatine (4-5, 4-4) took an 18-3 win from Winfield-Mount Union (1-12, 1-11) in this SEI Super Conference North Division game.
Andrew Brown had a double. Nick Crow threw five innings for WMU with 10 strikeouts, two walks, 10 hits, and four earned runs but four more unearned.
Tigers pounce on Panthers
PACKWOOD — The Tigers walloped the home team 14-3 to improve to 9-0. Cam Kasel and Josh Catala each had three hits. Kasel batted in four runs. Brenden Richey pitched three of the five innings for the win.
Cael Baker and Brady Latcham each had a hit for the only Pekin stat in that column. Latcham’s hit was a two-run home run for the 5-7 Panthers.
Lone Tree sinks Columbus
COLUMBUS JUNCTION — The 16 runs in the first inning resulted in a 32-0 loss for the Wildcats in a North loss to Lone Tree.
