MT. PLEASANT — Mt. Pleasant senior Addison Clark will be joining the Simpson Storm in 2026.
Clark, a four-year starter for the Panther volleyball team, signed her letter of intent to head to Indianola last week in the media center at Mt. Pleasant Community High School.
“Simpson was kind of a backup college at first,” said Clark. “I was just going to go there because I know Savannah Walls who went there, and I played softball with her. Then, we ended up going, and I fell in love with the campus.”
Clark, who led the Panthers with 281 kills this year, says everything felt right when she finally stepped onto the Simpson campus.
“It’s beautiful. It’s so pretty,” Clark said. “Then, I talked to the volleyball coach, and she was awesome, and she didn’t just want me for the athlete that I was, but she also wanted me for the person I was.”
Clark will join a Storm team that went 19-8 overall last season and 5-3 in American Rivers Conference play. She has plans to study Pediatric Oncology.
“I love volleyball, but education is always first for me,” Clark said. “That’s what the future will be for me after volleyball, so it’s just that balance.”
Clark was part of a big volleyball class at Mt. Pleasant, with 10 seniors finishing out their careers this fall. She says being surrounded with other talented players helped motivate her to be the player she is today.
“It honestly started from when we were younger,” Clark said. “We were on our club volleyball team, I think since we were in fifth grade, and then I went to the Iowa Rockets with even more hardcore volleyball players, and that just honestly made me a better athlete, and made me want to play volleyball even more.”
