Class 1A girls basketball teams from around the area are now competing for a shot at the state tournament. Since last Thursday, Union area teams are now either a game in towards that journey or have fallen just short.

The Wolves thrived on both ends of the floor in their 1A first round tilt against the Ravens.
Winfield held Hillcrest to 10 or less in each of the four quarters.
Keetyn Townsley led the Wolves with 19 points, and was one of four to hit double figures. Keely Malone added 15.
Esther Hughes finished with 18 for Hillcrest and Malia Yoder tallied eight.
Hillcrest ends its season 1-19, while Winfield improves to 18-4.
The Wolves will play Holy Trinity Catholic in the second round on Tuesday.
Holy Trinity 74, New London 47
The Crusaders were too much for the Tigers in their first round matchup.
Ashlyn McSorley led New London with 12 points and Natalie Burden finished with seven.
Holy Trinity’s Kate Bendlage finished with a game-high 20 points.
New London ends its campaign 1-22.
Sigourney 50, Keota 40
Keota fell just short to rival Sigourney.
