Coble posts first career college double double

STORM LAKE — Buena Vista University freshman volleyball player, Grace Coble, turned in her first career double-double on Oct. 18 when she registered 24 assists and 10 digs during the Beavers' 3-0 home loss to Simpson College.

The Crawfordsville, Iowa, native, and graduate of WACO High School, was making just her fifth career varsity appearance. Her 24 assists surpassed her previous best of 23 against Bethel University just five days earlier when she also added eight digs.

In addition to her 24 kills and 10 assists against the Storm, she also matched her career-best with three kills at the net.

In five matches this season, Coble has dished out 84 assists, added 27 digs and six service aces.

Coble was a standout for the WACO volleyball team when she was in high school, a perennial All-Southeast Iowa Super Conference player, as well as a perennial All-Union athlete.

In her senior year for the Warriors, Coble had 600 assists, along with 117 kills.
