Coble, Warriors own Bears

NORTH ENGLISH - English Valleys simpley couldn't contain the WACO football team on Friday night. The Warriors scored at will in a District 4 road game, winning 56-46 to stay within two games of first place.
The Wasrrior defense was stout early, and that allowed quarterback Nik Coble and the offense to give WACO a head start. Coble scored only touchdown of the first quarter on a three-yard touchdown run, and them scampered in the end zone on a 38-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, making it 14-0.
The Bears and Warriors traded scores for the rest of the first half, scoring twice each from inside the 10. At the break, it was 28-14 Warriors.
EV cut the lead to 28-20 with a 45-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, but Coble answered with a 52-yard score fo his own, his fourth touchdown run of the game. That was the story of the second half; EV cutting the game to one possession and WACO answering with scores of their own.
The Warriors eventually took the lead to 16 points when Elijah McGohan found the end zone on a 45-yard rush in the fourth. EV couldn't stop WACO to get in striking range of the lead.
Coble once again lit up the stat sheet. He was 15-32 throwing the ball for 281 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 117 yards and four scores. McGohan ran for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Jaden Williams had four catches for 109 yards and a touchdown. Robert Frazer caught eight passes for 108 yards and a score. Drew Kissell caught two passes for 42 yards and a TD.
The WACO defense was led by Williams, who finished with 8.5 total tackles. Jalen Collins and Braden Hammond had eight tackles apiece. Collins recovered one fumble, and Kissell had an interception.
WACO is now 3-4 overall and 2-3 in district play. They'll host Lone Tree in their final home game this week.
