Columbus boys lose to Pekin Friday
The Columbus boys basketball team were host to Pekin Friday, Jan. 27, and fell by a final score of 39-58.
The Wildcats would be outscored by the Panthers in the first quarter 4-9 and never had a chance to recover.
Columbus scored 16 points in the second quarter while Pekin put up 15, putting the score at 24-20 in Pekin?s favor.

Columbus added 12 in the third quarter while Pekin scored 11 to tighten Columbus? deficit to three, but Pekin would hold Columbus back to only seven in the fourth quarter while scoring 23 to get the win.
Tommy Pretz scored 13 points, Carter Colby had 10, Erik Rees put up six, both Ruben Paz and Abel Mena had four and Daniel Fuentes scored two. The boys are now at 1-16 and play tonight at Mediapolis.
