Columbus goes 2-2 in SEISC tournament pool play
Columbus went 2-2 in pool play at Thursday?s Southeast Iowa Super Conference volleyball tournament in Danville.
No. 2 Holy Trinity swept the Wildcats by scores of 21-5 and 21-8, and Danville swept Columbus by scores of 21-16 and 21-15. But Columbus swept Wapello by scores of 21-18 and 21-17, and the Wildcats won a three-set match over rival Louisa-Muscatine by scores of 21-7, 15-21 and 15-8.

Senior Megan Pretz had 17 kills and eight blocks to lead the Wildcats (4-14) at the tournament. Senior Christine Milder and junior Heidi Duttlinger added seven kills apiece, and Milder also had five blocks. Sophomore Kelsey Pretz had 14 assists on the night.
Megan Pretz went 20-for-21 serving with nine aces, while Kelsey Pretz and senior Shayne VanAuken added five aces apiece.
Freshman Laura Mincks had a team-high 15 digs at the tournament, and senior Shelly Stewart chipped in seven.
