Columbus, Sig-K fall in first round
A late comeback fell short for the Sigourney-Keota Cobras at home on Wednesday night.
The Cobras were fighting for their season, but ended up falling to Hudson in the game, 28-26, despite a three-touchdown performance from senior running back Peyton Crawford.
Crawford posted 188 rushing yards and three rushing scores in the season-ending loss, as Sigourney-Keota saw its season end with a 6-4 record.

A late comeback fell short for the Sigourney-Keota Cobras at home on Wednesday night.
The Cobras were fighting for their season, but ended up falling to Hudson in the game, 28-26, despite a three-touchdown performance from senior running back Peyton Crawford.
Crawford posted 188 rushing yards and three rushing scores in the season-ending loss, as Sigourney-Keota saw its season end with a 6-4 record.
Sig-K sophomore quarterback Luke Greiner tossed more than 100 yards in the contest, completing six-of-11 passes for 109 yards and a score.
The passing touchdown went to Avery Moore on a 20-yard strike, as senior Jordan Albert caught a team-high two passes for 32 yards.
Defensively, Sigourney-Keota was led by Lane Boender?s 10.5 tackles, including one for a loss, followed by Carson Crawford?s 7.5 tackles.
Zach Mousel forced the only Cobra turnover on the night, picking off a pass.
Sigourney-Keota will say goodbye to 12 seniors on its roster.
Columbus falls to undefeated West Branch
The first playoff appearance in 18 years for the Columbus Wildcats came with a tough test against the No. 2 ranked team in Class 1A, and they fell in a 55-20 defeat.
The 20 points posted by Columbus are the second-most points posted against West Branch this season.
With the loss, the Wildcats end the season with a 3-7 record.
In the contest, junior quarterback Carter Colby led the team with 199 passing yards, tossing two touchdowns, including a 52-yarder to senior running back Mauricio Ramirez.
Ramirez finished the night with 102 receiving yards on four catches, as well as gaining 75 yards and a score on 16 rushes.
Abel Mena had two catches for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Nick Hernandez finished the night with a team-high 8.5 tackles, while Andrew King and Mena finished with six tackles each.
Columbus will lose eight seniors to graduation.
