Columbus picked up its first win of the season with an 85-27 blowout victory over visiting Fairfield Maharishi in Friday?s Southeast Iowa Super Conference Shootout.
The Wildcats (1-20) jumped out to a 30-10 lead after one quarter of play and rolled to victory, ending the school?s 32-game losing streak.
Junior Ricky Rivers scored a game-high 26 points to lead Columbus, and he also had eight rebounds, eight assists and seven steals in the contest. Sophomore Chase Finke added 18 points.
Junior Surya Sawhney scored eight points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Pioneers (2-18).
