Columbus unable to hold off W-MU for first win
Columbus led visiting Winfield-Mt. Union 36-35 with four minutes remaining in Thursday?s Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division boys? basketball game, but the Wildcats were unable to hold on for their first win of the season. Columbus led visiting Winfield-Mt. Union 36-35 with four minutes remaining in Thursday?s Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division boys? basketball game, but the Wildcats were unable to hold on for their first win of the season. The Wolves held Columbus to just two points in the final four minutes to win 46-38.
Sophomore Chase Finke scored a game-high 16 points on 8-for-9 shooting to lead the Wildcats (0-9, 0-8 SEISC North), and junior Kenan Todd added nine points and six rebounds.
Junior Max Fricke scored 14 points to lead the Wolves (2-7, 2-7 SEISC North), and junior Jake Edwards added 13.
