Columbus wins 2A sectional tournament
Led by junior Zac Howell and sophomore Chase Finke, Columbus won the Class 2A boys? sectional golf tournament held at Flint Hills Golf Course in Burlington on Friday.

Led by junior Zac Howell and sophomore Chase Finke, Columbus won the Class 2A boys? sectional golf tournament held at Flint Hills Golf Course in Burlington on Friday.
Howell and Finke both carded an 80 ? finishing third and fourth, respectively ? for the Wildcats, who shot a 337 to win the tournament by seven strokes. Columbus advances to this Friday?s district tournament at the Geneva Golf and Country Club in Muscatine.
Junior Eli Sents added an 85 for the Wildcats, and sophomore Ethan Leyden carded a 92 to round out the scoring. Sophomore Austin Edwards shot a 95, and junior Alex Mincer had a 96.
Mid-Prairie finished seventh at the eight-team sectional tournament with a 378. Senior Tyler Davis and junior Trever Owens both carded a 90 to lead the Golden Hawks. Freshman Paul Hawbaker added a 98, and sophomore Devon Young had a 100 to round out the scoring. Junior Gabe Miezcnikowski shot a 113, and sophomore Grant Schlabaugh had a 124.
