Columbus/WMU wrestling wins pair in triangular with Pekin, L-M

WINFIELD — Columbus/WMU wrestling has had a dominant 2023-24 campaign thus far and on Tuesday the Wildcats showed why their one of the top teams in Class 2A in a triangular with Pekin and Louisa-Muscatine.

It was a stellar night on the mats for Columbus/WMU to say the least as the Wildcats dropped just three matches in total against the Panthers and Falcons.

The Wildcats swept Pekin 84-0 and then followed up with a 66-13 victory over Louisa-Muscatine.

For Pekin, it was a tough night on the mats as the Panthers coupled the loss to Columbus/WMU with a loss to Louisa-Mucatine 48-12. Pekin’s two wins came from Brantyn Sieren at 285 and Reed Lauderman at 106 in the dual with Louisa-Muscatine.
