NEW LONDON ? A slow start couldn?t derail Cardinal?s explosive offense, which totaled 61 second-half points in a 77-41 victory over New London Friday.
The Comets trailed the Tigers 24-16 at halftime before its offense kicked in. The away team turned the eight-point deficit into a 51-33 advantage after three quarters and ran away with its fourth win in a five-game stretch.
Cardinal was led by Dakota Showman, who scored 23 points to go with seven boards and six assists. The Comets also received 11 points from Cody Carter as well as 10 points from both Charlie Rachford and Jonathan Pedersen. Kaleb Durflinger scored seven and Brandon Potts swiped away three steals.
The Comets visit Van Buren Tuesday.
