The Comets (7-12, 7-13 SEISC south) shot 21 percent from the field to drop their first game since a Jan. 20 loss to Burlington-Notre Dame.
Cardinal?s Lindsay Moore scored 18 points with five assists and Liz Nichols added 13 points. Laci Moore scored nine points and Brooke Courtney netted six.
On defense, Jordan Smith had three steals. Lindsay Moore hauled in eight boards, while Smith and Courtney finished with seven rebounds each.
The Comets, the No. 5 seed in the south division, will travel to Highland for their SEISC shootout game today.
Boys: Central Lee 75, Cardinal 46
DONNELLSON ? Cardinal dropped a 75-46 game vs. Central Lee in Southeast Iowa Super Conference action Thursday.
The Comets fell behind early, trailing 21-9 after one quarter, and the Golden Hawks continued their onslaught in the second quarter. Central Lee led 46-22 at halftime.
Jonathan Pedersen scored a team-high 16 points, Austin Roe scored 12 and Neil Urtado added seven points. Cody Carter tallied three assists.
Next up for Cardinal (6-13, 5-12 SEISC south) is a Tuesday trip to Keosauqua to face area rival Van Buren.
