Comets melt Moulton-Udell

MOULTON - The Cardinal basketball teams played a nonconference doubleheader at Moulton-Udell on Monday night, and the Comets came back with two wins. The Cardinal girls used a strong fourth quarter to secure a 50-37 victory and the boys dominated 80-21.
The Cardinal girls split the first quarter 11-11 with the hosting Eagles. The Comets took a 24-20 lead into halftime.
Cardinal's lead was at 35-30 going into the final quarter, but the Comets outscored Moulton-Udell 15-7 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Cardinal's Alexia McClure scored 17 points to lead the team. Maddie Cloke had 15.
The Comet boys shredded the Eagles all game. Cardinal led 24-3 after one quarter, 49-15 at halftime and 68-21 after three quarters. Blaine Bryant scored 18 points to lead the way.
