Comets shoot past No. 10 Eagles

KEOTA - Back and forth, nip and tuck, last minute might be possible descriptions of a nonconference boys basketball game between Cardinal and Class 1A's No. 10 Keota. The contest was scheduled Thursday and won Friday by the visiting Comets 60-57 behind Griffin Greiner.
Tied at 15 after a quarter, the home team took a 30-25 lead by halftime. The Comets responded to lead 44-42 to start the fourth.
Greiner did a lot of everything but did not turn the ball over. He produced 19 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, three steals, a block and made all four of his free throws.
The Comets were 9-of-13 and Keota 4-for-12 on foul shots.
Elias Elammari had 14 points and Keysean Moore 10 while Dawson Lewis cleared the glass for eight Cardinal rebounds.
Carson Sprouse led all scorers with 26 points and Eagles teammate Luke Hammen had 21. Brady Duwa pitched in with eight points, eight rebounds and four steals.
Keota's record is 18-2. Cardinal is 10-9.
