Conrad, Goff lead Demon girls to victory
Washington continues dominance of SEC girls golf regular season

MT. PLEASANT — The Southeast Conference regular season made its way to Mt. Pleasant on Monday, and despite the wind and rain, the Washington girls golf team continued to run ahead of its conference foes.
The Demons won their fourth SEC meet in four tries, shooting 198. That stroke total was just ahead of second-place Burlington, which shot 206.
Fairfield was 11 strokes within the lead after shooting a 209 on the day. Mt. Pleasant and Fort Madison didn’t have enough players to compete.
Washington’s Makenna Conrad and Alecia Goff both had nice rounds despite the windy conditions. Conrad shot a 44 for second place overall and Goff finished third with a 45.
Kaylin Long shot a 51 for the Demons. Mallary Johnson closed the day at 58. Maci Williams shot a 59, and Haley Mitchell scored 61.
Fairfield put all six of its golfers between 50 and 60. Viola Welsh and Macy Rayburn each shot an even 50 to colead the team.
Myah Twohill shot a 51 on the day. Maggie Rayburn, Kate Pettit and Sara Kretz each scored 58.
Mt. Pleasant’s Sami Wibben closed the day under 50, with a 49. Kylie Walderbach finished at 57.
