Cortum's three touchdown passes lead Mid-Prairie's JV to victory
Freshman quarterback Ryan Cortum was a perfect 10-for-10 passing for 130 yards and three touchdowns as he led Mid-Prairie to a 27-0 win over Louisa-Muscatine in Monday?s junior varsity football game at Doc Sattler Field.
Cortum threw touchdown passes to Jacob Kukuzke, Jacob Adrian and Trent Fisher. Adrian caught three passes for 54 yards in the contest, and Fisher made two receptions for 26 yards.

Freshman quarterback Ryan Cortum was a perfect 10-for-10 passing for 130 yards and three touchdowns as he led Mid-Prairie to a 27-0 win over Louisa-Muscatine in Monday?s junior varsity football game at Doc Sattler Field.

Sophomore Austin Slabaugh rushed for 97 yards, including a 9-yard touchdown. Freshman Nolan Faselt added 59 yards rushing, and freshman Karson Duwa ran for 12 yards.
Faselt led the Golden Hawk defense with 16 tackles. Freshman Cameron Tolander and sophomore Cody Knepp added 11 tackles apiece. Tolander forced a fumble, and Knepp recovered a fumble in the contest. Freshman Logan Bean made eight stops, and sophomore Dylan Schrock made seven tackles and recovered a pair of fumbles.
Only varsity game to be played on Oct. 19
When the Mid-Prairie football team hosts West Liberty at Doc Sattler Field on Oct. 19, only one game, the varsity contest, will be played. West Liberty has notified all teams remaining on its schedule that it is only able to play one game on Friday evenings due to low numbers and injuries.
