Cross-country postseason sites revealed
With October comes the postseason, and while football teams jockey for playoff spots and the volleyball teams learned their pairings last Wednesday, the state?s cross-country teams learned their fates on Thursday morning.

With October comes the postseason, and while football teams jockey for playoff spots and the volleyball teams learned their pairings last Wednesday, the state?s cross-country teams learned their fates on Thursday morning.
District assignments for Oct. 20?s state-qualifying meets were revealed, with tough competition in store for some area teams.
Washington learned their 3A meet will be held in Solon, with Fairfield and Keokuk also joining the Demons at that location.
On paper, the toughest girls? competition comes from Mount Vernon-Lisbon, ranked 10th, and Assumption, who is ranked 11th overall among girls? teams in Class 3A.
Marion, ranked 14th, will also be in attendance.
On the boy?s side of the Class 3A meet, Marion, ranked No. 7 overall, will headline the meet, while Clear Creek-Amana will also be in attendance.
In Class 2A, the No. 7 ranked Mid-Prairie girls? cross-country team will be running at Pella, with the No. 3 ranked boys? team also being in attendance.
All the area Class 1A teams (Highland, WACO, Columbus, Iowa Mennonite and Keota) will be running at Cedar Rapids Jefferson for their meet.
The top three teams and top 15 individuals will qualify for the state meet in Fort Dodge, which will be held on Oct. 29.
