Washington, Mid-Prairie boys, girls run in Anamosa

ANAMOSA — Area high school runners took to a course at Anamosa Middle School Saturday for a cross-country meet.
Washington’s boys placed third as a team behind Lance Sobaski, and the girls were fourth.
Mid-Prairie’s girls were first behind Danielle Hostetler and Mitzi Evans and their 1-2 finish. The Golden Hawk boys were fourth.
Sobaski was second as an individual, finishing in 17 minutes, 5 seconds. Miles Wilson of Cedar Rapids Kennedy won in 16:54. Mid-Prairie’s Thaddeus Shetler placed fourth with a time of 17:21.
Hostetler’s winning time was 19:01. Evans ran a 20:57 time. Solon had Nos. 3 and 4, but Mid-Prairie had No.s 5, 6 and 8.
Quincy Griffis was the lead Washington finisher at 23:03. She and the next three Demon finishers are freshmen.
