WILLIAMSBURG - It was a stacked field at the Williamsburg Invitational on Tuesday night. D-NL was one of a handful of big-named teams at the meet, and they took home two Top-5 finishes. The top-ranked (2A) boys finished third, with 70 points, and the 13th-ranked girls took fifth, with 105.
The boys placed two runners in the Top-3. Ty Carr crossed the tape in second, with a time of 16:38.42, and Alexander Julian was right behind him in third, finishing just half a second later, at 16:38.86.
Oliver Sowell finished just outside of the Top-15 for D-NL, taking 16h. Rylan Martin took 28th to put all five scorers in the Top-30.
D-NL's Addison Parrott dominated the field once again. The second-rated girl in Class 2A flew past everyone, finishing in 18:13.11 to win the race by 32.54 seconds. Carissa Mackey took 23rd and Kamryn Sherwood placed 24th to give the Bears three runners in the Top-25.
The D-NL girls finished with all five scorers in the Top-30. Cassidy Yaley ended the race in 29th place, and Penelepe Sowell took 30th.
The Bears will be right back at today (Thursday). D-NL will travel to Winfield-Mt. Union for the Wolves' home meet, which is held at Twin Lakes Golf Course. That has a start time of 4:30 p.m.
