WASHINGTON — Kellie Dallmeyer is already a name that will go down in Washington Demon softball history. Wednesday she added another chapter into the lore.
Two home runs during a doubleheader sweep of the visitors from Mid-Prairie puts Dallmeyer’s season total of seven dingers ahead of Grace Redlinger’s six home runs during the 2013 season.
Dallmeyer went 3-for-4 with two singles and a dinger in the 4-1 win. In the 15-5 win, she was 2-for-2 with a single and the homer. She finished with five runs batted in over the two games.
Brittany Kissinger went a combined 4-for-5 Mid-Prairie in the two games. In the 4-1 loss, Dawsyn Miller gave up nine hits, four earned runs, two walks and two hit batters while fanning two in six innings. Landry Pacha and Sydney Knebel shared circle time in the 15-5 game.
In the 4-1 win, Isabella Sanchez allowed four hits, two walks and eight strikeouts for the win. Ella Greiner and Emmy Wenger each had an RBI. Halle Cuddeback did not issue a walk in her five inning game with a strikeout, four hits and three earned runs.
Salazar, Greiner and Ava Turner each had a double in the 10-run win. Hailey Mitchell had two RBIs.
Mid-Prairie is 9-28 and the Demons are 21-14, having won nine of their last 11.
Kellie Dallmeyer connects on a double for Washington her sophomore year. Wednesday she hit a home run in each game of a doubleheader sweep of Mid-Prairie to total 13 homers in her career and seven so far in this, her senior season. She broke Grace Redlinger’s record of six home runs set in 2013. (File)
