Davidson off to state swimming
Mt. Pleasant trackster advances with Burlington medley relay team
Mt. Pleasant’s Will Davidson is off to the state swimming meet this weekend, as part of the Burlington High School swim team.
Mt. Pleasant, which does not have a swim team, has a co-op with Burlington for the sport. Davidson qualified for the medley relay, alongside three swimmers who attend other area schools
Along with Burlington’s Aaiden Woodsmall, Fort Madison’s John Cottrell and Danville’s Byers Newley, Davidson punched his name to the state list during the qualifier on Jan. 4.
The Grayhound medley team will compete at the state meet this weekend. It will run from Friday to Saturday.
Along with swimming, Davidson is a member of the Mt. Pleasant track and field team, where he is a perennial state qualifier.
