Demon archers take second in pre-nationals tournament
The Washington archery team prepared for nationals with a meet in Anamosa on Saturday.
The Demons took second at the meet, scoring 3,310 points, behind Anamosa?s 3,390 points.
Lane Frana led the Demon archers with a 286 on the day, taking third among middle school boys and seventh among all boys in attendance.
Grace Shafer posted a 285 on the day, placing third among high school girls and fifth for girls overall.

Emily Waite was next up for the Demons, posting a 282, taking third among middle school girls and seventh overall.
Samantha Mellinger finished with a 281 (fourth for middle school girls and ninth overall), while Bryan Martin notched a 276 to take 10th among middle school boys.
Kylee Porter took ninth in the high school girls? competition with a 275, while Allison Rees won the elementary girls? competition with a 274.
