Demon baseball falls at Central Lee

DONNELLSON — The Washington baseball team took a tough loss at Central Lee on Tuesday night.

The Demons saw a two-run lead disappear in the non-conference clash. Central Lee came back in the middle innings to beat the Demons 4-3.

Washington led 1-0 after a run in the second inning, but the Hawks tied it up in the bottom of the third. The Demons scored two in the fourth and had a short-lived 3-1 advantage.

Central Lee buckled down and scored one run in the bottom of the fourth and two in the bottom of the fifth. Washington could never get another run across the plate.

The Demons have now lost three games in a row against Lee County squads. Washington is sitting at 4-15 overall.

The Demons will play another game in Lee County on Thursday. Washington puts its 4-7 SEC mark on the line in Game 3 against Keokuk (7-12, 4-7).
