Demon baseball rallies for 1, gives back Game 2
Washington splits with Fort Madison in road doubleheader on Monday

FORT MADISON — The Washington baseball team stormed back to grab victory out of the jaws of defeat Fort Madison on Monday night. In game 2, however, the tables were turned.
A three-run seventh inning helped Washington turn a 5-3 deficit into a 6-5 victory in Game 1. In Game 2, the Bloodhounds rallied from four runs down to win 9-5.
Fort Madison’s 5-3 lead in Game 1 came on a four-inning fourth.
The win for the Demons was the first in six tries against the Bloodhounds.
Washington scored five runs over the first two innings in Game 2. Fort Madison responded with four to tie it in the third and four more in the fourth.
Washington is now 3-7 overall and 3-2 in conference play. The Demons will take on Fort Madison once more on Thursday, this time at home.
