Demon bowlers end year at districts
The Washington bowling team wrapped up its season, close to achieving their season-long dream of making it to the state tournament last week.
The Demon boys? rollers took second as a team at their state-qualifying meet in Pella last Tuesday, and had two individuals finish in the top-5 among the rest of their competition.
Washington?s boys rolled a team total of 2,669 to finish second, behind Fairfield?s 2,805.

The Washington bowling team wrapped up its season, close to achieving their season-long dream of making it to the state tournament last week.
The Demon boys? rollers took second as a team at their state-qualifying meet in Pella last Tuesday, and had two individuals finish in the top-5 among the rest of their competition.
Washington?s boys rolled a team total of 2,669 to finish second, behind Fairfield?s 2,805.
After the individual rounds, the Demons led the competition over Fairfield with an 1,831, led by sophomore Bailey Curtis? two-game series of 390 (213, 177), which was good for second place individually.
Collin Zear finished in fourth place with a 377 (185, 192), while Riley Lambert notched a 370 (181, 189) for sixth overall.
The Demons had Kolton Segebart finish in eighth place with a 356 (190, 166), Kylan Gillette finish in 11th with a 338 (180, 158) and Tucker Renoux take 26th with a 227 (112, 115).
In the Baker games, Fairfield outscored the Demons 998 to 838, as the Trojans earned the automatic bid to state.
Fairfield?s Brayden Miller also won the individual competition with a 406, earning a trip to state, while no at-large qualifiers came out of the district.
On the girls? side of the state-qualifying meet, the Demons had three competitors, with senior Cheyenne Gillette leading the charge with a 265 (142, 123) to finish in eighth place.
Sophomore AnnaMarie Walter finished in 15th with a 232 (111, 121) and freshman Trista Kelly notched a 197 (89, 108) for 19th place.
Pella Christian?s Anna Burg won the individual event with a 329 series, while Fairfield won the girls? team event.
