Demon boys earn two second-place finises
The Washington boys? golf team has been busy over the weekend, taking part in two tournaments.

The Washington boys? golf team has been busy over the weekend, taking part in two tournaments.
The Demons traveled to check out their district golf course on Friday at Amana Colonies Golf Course, then went to Fairfield on Saturday for an 18-hole invitational. The team placed second at both meets.
On Friday afternoon, Washington carded a team score of 168 to take second at the Amana Colonies Golf Course, highlighted by freshman Dalton Myers? 38 which tied him with Tyler Stueck of Vinton-Shellsburg for the best score of the day.
Sophomore Mason Rich was second on the team with a 42, followed by sophomore Tanner Coleman?s 43 and junior Derek Anding?s 45.
Rounding out the varsity scores on the nine-hole tournament were senior Blake Weidman?s 51 and sophomore Noah Enfield?s 52.
Vinton-Shellsburg won the meet with a 165, while Clear Creek Amana finished one stroke behind Washington with a 169.
In Fairfield, the Demons shot a season-best 18-hole score of 320, to finish in second place behind Centerville, who carded a 309.
Myers led the Demons once again, posting a 77, while Anding followed him with a 79.
Coleman shot an 81 on the day, while Blake Weidman rounded out the counting scores with an 83. The scratched varsity scores were Noah Enfield (85) and Mason Rich (88).
The Demons will head to Spring Valley Golf Course in Livermore, where they?ll take on Decorah and Williamsburg on Tuesday for a tournament.
