Demon eighth-graders win third game in a row
The Washington eighth-grade girls? basketball team won its third straight game on Nov. 27, blowing out visiting Fort Madison 30-11.
The Demons (3-5) jumped out to an 11-0 lead after one quarter of play, and they led 20-4 at the half.

The Washington eighth-grade girls? basketball team won its third straight game on Nov. 27, blowing out visiting Fort Madison 30-11.
The Demons (3-5) jumped out to an 11-0 lead after one quarter of play, and they led 20-4 at the half.
Lexi Redlinger had 12 points, five rebounds and three steals to lead Washington. Alexis Turner and Grace Shafer both added four points, and Turner also had three rebounds. Bella Giardino had three points, three rebounds and a steal in the contest, and Jessie Buchholz had three points, two rebounds and a theft. Brenna Weidman chipped in two points, two rebounds and two steals, while Michaela Roder had two points, three rebounds and a theft. Alexi Evans had a pair of steals and a rebound in the game.
The two teams also played one quarter of a B game, with Washington winning 6-5. Redlinger, Roder and Weidman each had a basket for the Demons.
The Washington eighth-grade girls? basketball team travels to Ottumwa today. The game, which will be played at Evans Middle School, will tip off at 4:30 p.m.
