ANAMOSA — The Washington cross-country season started off with a bang this weekend, as the Demon boys and girls both ran at their first meet of the year.
The Demon girls scored 75 points, just two behind second-place Sumner-Fredericksburg.
Senior Iris Dahl crossed the line first, winning the meet in 19:58.40. Freshman Kora Miller took third place, and Emma Horak medaled as well, getting 12th.
The Demon boys didn’t fare quite as well as a team, but senior Andrew Rees did show out, running a 16:43.88 to earn fifth place, and Washington’s only medal on the boys’ side.
